Winter Repairs.

Can you repair my roof during the winter? As we close in on the end of the year, the most common question is, " Can you still work on my roof during the winter?" YES! We work all winter long in Ontario, and while we'd prefer to be doing the repair work in July or August, a bit of weather won't stop us.

Snow Buildup. When snow is left to build up on a roof, a few things can happen.

  • The additional weight of the snow on the roof can have a structural impact on your house. Please do not try to clear snow off your roof; give us a call, and we can do it with the correct tools. A sudden slide of snow from a roof could seriously injure a homeowner.

  • Leaks can occur when the snow builds up against a flashing to a high where the flashing no fully protects the roof.

  • Icicles. When warm air escapes your house, it causes the snow to melt, filling your gutters and creating icicles. The larger the icicles, the bigger the problem.

Major Repair Work. Major repair work, which is unavoidable, will be done during the winter to the extent that is possible. We regularly install new roofs and undertake large restorations which last through the winter. Impacted areas of the house will be protected while open, and work will be completed as quickly as possible.

So Yes, we do work 12 months of the year in Ontario. We will always do our best to keep your home and property safe by responding to your request as quickly as possible.
